Frequency Media Group Artist Profile : PNC

PNC

The name "PNC" is an acronym for Palmerston North City and moniker of hip hop rapper Sam Hansen.

PNC first gained underground notoriety performing alongside Breaking Wreckwordz. His unofficial single "Day in the Life" stayed at number one on the Bfm charts for three weeks. He followed up with appearances on P-Money's "321 Remix", "Get Back" and the NZ chart topping  "Stop The Music" single from the Magic City album in 2004.

Debut album Rookie Card was winner of the best urban/hip-hop album at the 2007 Vodafone Music Awards.

PNC's second album, Bazooka Kid, was released on 2 June 2009 and third studio album, Man On Wire, saw the artist continue with his now signature sound of calm and crazy.

“That's just the type of music I like, I'll listen to the most underground, street sort of mix-tapes and then I'll listen to Britney Spears new songs and I like them both", says Hansen. "That's the type of artist I am, I make those different kind of extreme records.”

Aeroplane Music represents the master rights for the following releases on behalf of FMG:
