Spark Lab is a starting place, a 'doing' space, a launch pad for new things, a space dedicated to ideas, products, experiences, art. It's a space to unleash the potential of New Zealanders. To get hands on, explore, innovate and learn, with an open door for open minds.
In November SparkLab is dedicated to music and this coming week boasts a number of wonderful events:
Saturday 15th November, 2pm - Che Fu. DJ Sir Vere will be hosting a Q & A with Che Fu, pioneer of Hip Hop and Pasifika music in NZ. He'll be playing music and showing his favourite videos and performing some live stuff just for you.
Monday 17th November, 1pm - Licensing. Meet some of New Zealand's top music publishers and copyright experts and take notes as they take you step by step through music IP, publishing and licensing, and how to earn money from syncs. With Paul McLaney (Mushroom Music Publishing), David McLaughlin (McLaughlin Law), Jan Hellriegel (Aeroplane Music/Songbroker).
Monday 17th November, 6pm - Releasing Songs. Peter Baker (Rhythmethod/DRM) and Mahoney Harris (Aeroplane Music) will take you step by step through the release process, including which digital platforms to use and how to handle publicity. Any questions you have on releasing music, these guys are the ones to ask.
All events will take place at Floor 4, 52 Tyler Street, Britomart, Auckland.
