TRICKS & SLEEVES

Auckland indie rockers Tricks & Sleeves are set to release their new album Locked out of Space on September 9th.

Having returned from USA in 2013 with a suitcase full of Boston-inspired demos, lead singer Karl Jacobsen teamed up with long-time collaborator Gareth Van Niekerk.

With a scrapbook full of new songs between them, the duo recruited fellow Jacobsen cousins Aaron and Jesse, and Tricks & Sleeves emerged. Right away, the quartet produced their self-titled EP, packed with melodies that acknowledge the rambles of Ryan Adams, and hints of the ethereal haunt created by Band Of Horses.

Building on the e.p.’s success, they've teamed up with Aeroplane Music Records, creating a sophisticated sophmore album brimming with infectious indie pop offerings housing pure blues-rock undertones.

This eclectic and well-crafted album embraces the sweeping involvement of 90’s Rock, the broad licks of Jack White and even a few whispering rhythms reminiscent of early Neil Young.

Locked Out Of Space sounds every bit as good on record as it will live at venues throughout the coming summer months.
