paper cranes

Paper Cranes 折り鶴 are a small folk/pop bunch of goodness, inspired by folk music harking back to its heady heyday. Think old brick fireplaces, good wine, books and conversation; tales of love and loss, heartache and elation, and everyday life.

Intertwine Fraser’s love of lyrical poetry and Naomi’s Japanese heritage

with some great backing musicians and you have a band that weaves stories into captivating and dynamic performances using diverse instrumentation (shakuhachi, ukelele, mandolin, ocarina, harmonica, accordion) in beautifully crafted songs that move between delicacy and outright abandon.

The band released their debut e.p. Oh, Love! in September 2012 to warm praise and winning The Audience Wildcard NZ on Air grant for their single ‘Little Darling’ spurred the band on to write their debut album The Road Home’ which is set for release on March 20th 2015.
