LITTLE LAPLIN
Little Lapin is the moniker of Raglan based singer/songwriter Lucy Cioffi. Her honest, heartfelt lyrics and unique sound is best described as ethereal, nostalgic pop.
Cioffi hails from Plymouth in the UK. Bored with the daily grind, Lucy left her old life behind and spent a year travelling overseas, surfing and writing songs until she discovered Raglan. It wasn't until she landed on New Zealand soil that Cioffi felt at home and inspired to make the music she had left behind for 10 years.
In 2009-2011 she fronted Raglan indie pop outfit the Hand Me Downs. Winning a recording grant from Creative Communities NZ, the band teamed up with producer, Ben King to record their single ‘Void’.
In 2012 Lucy made the decision to go solo, continuing her collaboration with King. King shares the same nostalgia for 80’s synth/new wave music as Cioffi and has created dreamy and atmospheric layered synth soundscapes on her soon-to-be-released debut EP.
