Cocoa Jackson Lane bring their gritty psychedelic soul to the worldwide underground. Trippy yet tropical, this brand new Roots-meets-RnB project is directed by Camilla ‘BassKilla’ Charlesworth and fronted by Ngapuhi/Ngati Porou vocalist Jess Harlen. Raised in Australia, and of Maori and Indonesian heritage, CJL explore the flavors of their Pacific backdrop whilst also digging deep into urban influences and swirling 70’s rock. Their forthcoming debut EP, written on the road and recorded in their Boston apartment, is a testament to their independent nature.
