NZ Music Month is here!

NZ Music Month 2015 is officially underway – New Zealand’s annual celebration of homegrown music!

31 days of celebrating local music in our venues, libraries, schools, parks, on our screens and airwaves and stereos.

There are so many wonderful music events this month, starting tonight with Play It Strange hosting three wonderful acts at Backbeat Bar - including our talented Songbroker artist Ash Grey.

Songbroker artist Goodshirt and Ha The Unclear are also playing on K Road at the Thirsty Dog this evening.

Elsewhere is godzone, Under Cover showcases a group of Wellington musicians covering Wellington songs at the capital’s music venue Meow.

In Christchurch Martin Phillipps, Minisnap and the Swan Sisters are at the Peterborough Street Library and later, Princess Chelsea is playing at the Darkroom.

Elsewhere, Great North and The Bads play The Old Stone Butter Factory in Whangerei. Paper Cranes with Little Brother are performing at the Little Fielding Theatre in Fielding. Mel Parsons is at the The Boathouse in Nelson. Jamie McDell plays a daytime school concert at Mountainview High School and performs at The Sail Cafe And Bar that night in Timaru.

This is just the tip of the iceberg! For more music event information during May, head over to the NZ Music Month Facebook page for updates:
