'I Did This To Myself' is the first single from the follow up to Tattletale Saints’ award winning album How Red Is the Blood.
Winners of the 2014 New Zealand Music Award for Folk Album of the Year, Tattletale Saints have been based in Nashville TN since March 2014 spending the year touring throughout the USA and Australia.
Led by guitarist/vocalist Cy Winstanley and bassist/vocalist Vanessa McGowan, Tattletale Saints worked with acclaimed producer/engineer Joe Pisapia (K.D. Lang, Ben Folds Five) and drummer Jamie Dick (Abigail Washburn, The Carolina Chocolate Drops) on this, the first song from their sophomore album, due out in 2015.
The time spent in Nashville has influenced the previously acoustic duo’s sound, inspiring a change to include drums and electric instruments while retaining the upright bass and acclaimed harmonies of Winstanley and McGowan.
I Did This To Myself' is a heartfelt confessional ballad driven by the steady heartbeat of the drums and McGowan’s bass, enveloped in the warmth of pedal steel and Winstanley’s electric guitar. A pensive and poignant introduction to their forthcoming release.
TTS begin their NZ 2015 Summer Tour this week.
