Jennifer Zea’s meeting with Nathan Haines led to him producing the album. His succinct horn and flute parts buoy the songs and with the collaboration of top New Zealand pianists Kevin Field and Jonathan Crayford feature prominently as co-writers and arrangers and their tasteful keys delight throughout the album.
Master percussionist Miguel Fuentes plays an integral part in the album and was present from the outset to the final mixing stages and in this exceptional showcase.
Together this ‘Antipodean Collective’ achieves a sound that possesses a genuine ‘Latin’ feel with a coastal airiness characteristic of New Zealand. This World Latin Premiere features New Zealand's finest artists.
Opened by the fire and Folkloric expression of The Cuban Rumba Ensemble and Dj Bobby Brazuka presenting his most polished World sounds yet. The Latin Soul will be available from all good retailers on digital and CD from May 24th. And of course on the night of this event and autographed by the artist.
